RoadAwareCameroon (RAC) aims to reduce dangerous driving in Cameroon by empowering passengers and creating visible accountability systems that encourage safer behavior in taxis.
RoadAwareCameroon (RAC) distributes behavior-based road safety interventions in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The pilot will deploy visible accountability stickers and QR/SMS feedback systems in taxis, allowing passengers to report unsafe driving while rewarding safer behavior through positive incentives. RAC intends to scale up by leveraging institutions that already interact daily with commercial drivers. What sets RAC apart is the focus on passenger-driven accountability as a scalable behavioral lever for road safety in urban transport systems.
RoadAwareCameroon (RAC) was launched in 2026 by Stephen Kome Fondzenyuy, Steffel Ludivin Feudjio Tezong, and Tevoh Ndingwan Lordswill.
PILOT AND SCALING GOALS
Directly reach 2,500 beneficiaries.
300 taxis will each be equipped with one intervention (a set of 2-3 engineered stickers).
Fundraise an additional $500 USD from various sources.
