DISTRIBUTION MODEL INNOVATION
Madaraja Foundation aims to improve the health and well-being of Ugandan women and girls by increasing access to quality sexual and reproductive health information and care.
The distribution model focuses on establishing a network of trained providers in private clinics, pharmacies, and drug shops in Mukono, Uganda, who can reliably offer self-injectable contraceptive, DMPA-SC, and support its continued use among women. To achieve this, the team will provide training and quarterly supportive supervision to enhance provider capacity, ensure availability of affordable DMPA-SC supplies through negotiations and collaborations with local importers, and support demand creation through printed communication material and community radio talk shows featuring community champions.
Madaraja Foundation was founded by Jacquellyn Nambi Ssanyu and Andrew Basenero, both Uganda Pharmacists with training in public health and deep passion for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. As the Executive Director, Jacquellyn provides strategic direction and day-to-day management of the organization, while Andrew, the Program Manager, oversees planning, implementation, and management of all project activities.
