PROVEN INTERVENTION TO BE DISTRIBUTED
Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) Education Program
Learn more about the Teaching at the Right Level Challenge and how an evidence-based foundational learning program can improve primary literacy and numeracy in low-resource schools.
DISTRIBUTION MODEL INNOVATION
Benih Indonesia delivers a Teaching at the Right Level model that helps Papuan primary students master their foundational skills.
Benih Indonesia provides a customized learning camp hosted both in and outside of school, starting in Jayapura Regency, Papua, Indonesia. They will support underserved students in Grades 3 to 6 who struggle in reading, writing, and arithmetic. They group learners by their actual learning level. Each group is led by a volunteer teacher, who will monitor their progress along the way.
What makes Benih Indonesia unique is that its customized learning camp introduces TaRL in the context of culturally relevant activities. The camp stems from six basic competencies proposed by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to strengthen literacy and numeracy skills.
The founding team consists of two members: Silvia Wambukomo and Frederick Martinus. They are educational practitioners dedicated to building a scalable model that can deliver an inclusive education system across Papua and other provinces in Indonesia.
